Thesis:   Assessment of Tree Diversity, Regeneration, and Soil-Carbon Characteristics in Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, West Bengal, India (Submitted)

Research Focus: My research in Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary focuses on understanding the complex interactions between tree diversity, regeneration patterns, carbon stock, and soil nutrient dynamics across varying environmental and anthropogenic gradients. We assess how elevation influences forest composition and soil carbon storage, while also examining the ecological impacts of road proximity on tree diversity and regeneration success. Additionally, we investigate how fire incidents affect tree stand structure, regeneration, and soil health. Together, these studies aim to generate science-based insights for the sustainable management and conservation of forest ecosystems in this ecologically sensitive Himalayan landscape.
