Thesis:  Assessment of Forest Fire and Its impact on the Savanna Ecosystem  of Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve, Tamil Nadu, India. (Submitted)

 

Research Focus:  My research focuses on understanding the ecological role of fire in the unique savanna ecosystem of Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve (STR). Unlike forest landscapes, savannas are fire-adapted systems where frequent burning maintains vegetation structure, enhances forage quality, and supports herbivore populations critical to predator conservation. Through long-term fire history analysis and field data, we highlight the need for ecosystem-specific fire management strategies that view fire as a tool for habitat improvement rather than suppression.
