ENTER Project Hosts National Level Stakeholder Workshop
A national-level online Stakeholder Consultation Workshop under Erasmus plus funded ENTER Project (Environmental Open Data for Engaging Curricula and Research Training, Erasmus+ Project ID: 101237917) was successfully conducted with an aim to enhance understanding on developing, deployment and dissemination of environmental open data for community benefit and prospective policy development in India.
The workshop, jointly organized by Indian partners including Pondicherry University, SKUAST-Kashmir, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and NESFAS Shillong focused on “Development, Deployment and Dissemination” aspect of the project objectives.
The session began with a welcome address by Prof. P. K. Joshi (JNU), followed by presentations by Prof. S. Jayakumar (PU) and Shri Pius Ranne (NESFAS) highlighting academic and field-level aspects of the project.
Key stakeholder speakers included Dr. Jagriti Dabas (CEO and Founder, ARMS 4 AI), Shri D. Ragavan (CEO and Founder, ARMS 4 AI), Dr. Majid Farooq (Senior Scientist, JKDEERS), Shri S. P. Balan (Director, Welcome Technologies), Dr. Richa Sharma (Fellow, TERI New Delhi), Dr. Bubesh Guptha (Founder & Director, Universal Eco Foundation), Shri Mudasir Mehmood Malik DCF, J&K Forest Department), Dr. Suheel Ahmad (Senior Scientist & Head ICAR-IGFRI), and Ms. Sukhpreet (TIINEC), representing academia, government, industry, and civil society. Each speaker delivered concise presentations highlighting innovative applications of environmental data, emerging technologies, policy perspectives, and community-based approaches. The session encouraged dynamic interaction through short Q&A segments following each presentation.
Over 75 participants, including faculty, researchers, and community members, attended the workshop. Discussions emphasized the role of open environmental data in research, policy, and sustainable development. The programme concluded with follow-up announcements and a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Akhlaq Amin Wani (SKUAST-K), who appreciated the contributions of all speakers, participants, and organizing partners in making the event a success.
The project is a consortium between universities and non-academic partners across Europe, India and Malaysia that aims to pilot a sustainable, data-driven model for academia and community engagement in India and Malaysia,
